We represent a lot, and our logo should reflect that.
Our hope is to play a part in more fruitful cryptography in practice. We'll not stop this pursuit until we've wrung ourselves dry, with as much torque as we can possibly put into it; needless to say, there will be no end to the wringing, nor any slack in the torque. Hence, "Extorque," - a name largely inspired by the textile industry that shaped the culture of the company's stomping grounds.
We're minimalists, and believers that design fundametals and simplicity can carry you a long way. And so it goes that the winged XOR took flight from that belief, symbolizing the truth that cryptography is better served through minimalistic and simplistic fundamentals and to arrive at this ideal is to take things a bit higher than we're used to seeing them go, in the real world.
